For our Finance division in New York we are looking to hire an
Accountant, Full Time, New York
We are seeking an Accountant to support the firm’s financial and regulatory reporting functions and assist in drafting financial statements for approval by the Head of Risk and Finance.
This role offers the opportunity to take on a broad set of responsibilities and play a key part in shaping the fi-nance function as the firm grows.
What will you do?
* Help build and scale the finance department in line with the firm’s growth
* Perform financial reconciliations, process journal entries, and prepare supporting schedules
* Drive and lead new finance-related projects and initiatives
* Support the monthly close process and preparation of regulatory filings
* Coordinate with internal and external auditors
* Oversee contract and vendor management, and assist with cost control
* Prepare management reports and ad hoc analyses as needed
Who are we looking for?
* Proven experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally including exposure to a national public accounting firm
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and / or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
* Series 27 Finance and Operations Principal (FINOP) license or obtained within three months of hire
* Background in preparing financial statements under US GAAP
* Knowledge of Broker-Dealer (15c3-1) & IB accounting practices
* Experience of Product Control processes and Valuation Risk gained working within Audit or Product Control of a globally operated bank
* Experience in dealing with examinations, audits, and inquiries from regulatory authorities
* Experience with Concur and Sage is a strong plus

Salary will vary based on role, education, level of experience, and expertise ranging between (i.e $100,000 to $160,000 ) dollars as a base salary with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus plus comprehensive benefits package.
