Since 9/11, the Cinema for Peace initiative has focused on perceiving and resolving global social, political, and humanitarian challenges. In recent years, Cinema for Peace has supported humanitarian causes with notable figures such as Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and public figures like the Dalai Lama, Muhammad Ali, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, and the former Honorary Patron, Nelson Mandela.
About the Opportunity:
The Cinema for Peace Foundation is cooperating with the ‘The World Forum on the Future of Democracy, AI/Tech and Humankind’, an annual forum held in Berlin. The aim is to bring together the world"s leaders from science, politics, civil society and culture, who are actively involved in shaping ideas and strategies for global progress and profound transformation. The World Forum serves the advancement of democracy, peace, justice and freedom. The Cinema for Peace Foundation offers a position as journalist to support the curation, wording and publications of The World Forum on the Future of Democracy, AI/Tech and Humankind.
As a Journalist, your responsibilities will include:
* Write opinion pieces, contribute to a book featuring leading thinkers, and produce analyses on The World Forum’s key topics.
* Establish strategic partnerships with leading international media outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, The Guardian, and other major global media organizations to enhance the visibility and impact of The World Forum.
* Curate and support the development of high-level panels for The World Forum on the Future of Democracy and AI, Technology, and Humankind, including identifying relevant themes, speakers, and moderators in collaboration with the Forum’s leadership team.
* Advise on inviting leading international journalists and chief editors to attend, participate in, and cover The World Forum.
* Supervise the creation, editing, and management of content for The World Forum’s official website and social media channels, ensuring consistent messaging aligned with the Forum’s mission, values, and communication strategy.
The ideal candidate has:
* deep knowledge in international and foreign affairs, politics, democracy and human rights;
* Familiarity with international media landscapes and key global news organizations;
* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
