As a Manager on the implementation engineering team, you will develop cutting edge solutions that put analytics at the heart of decision-making. You will work closely with other members of the Strategic Analytics team on high-profile analytics projects that drive business strategies. As a key member of the implementation engineering team, you will extend our capacity to deliver and push the team forward.
Responsibilities
1. Developing and Implementing API Strategy : create and maintain API strategy that aligns with the business's overall objectives. This strategy should outline how to enhance existing systems and integrate new ones with external third party APIs.
2. API Design and Development : establish API protocols and standards, develop API architectures, and collaborate with other stakeholders to integrate APIs into existing systems. Develop integrations with internal and external API systems.
3. API Documentation : maintain Confluence documentation for API development processes, code, and revisions
4. API Security : Implement proper security protocols and work with cybersecurity team to address potential threats
5. Monitoring and Maintenance : continuously monitor the performance of APIs, troubleshoot any issues, and ensure that APIs are regularly updated and maintained.
6. Stakeholder Communication : communicate with various stakeholders, including developers, IT teams, and business leaders, about the role of APIs in achieving business objectives.
7. Training and Support : provide training and support to other team members on how to use APIs effectively. They also provide technical support for any API-related issues.
8. Vendor Management : responsible for managing technical relationships with third-party vendors
9. Market Research : stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in the API space, and suggest ways to leverage these trends for the benefit of the business.
Education and Experience
10. 4+ years of leading software projects
11. 4+ years of Python development experience
12. 4+ years of API development experience
13. Experience with Azure Functions is a plus
14. Demonstrated experience building APIs to support analytics/research/actuarial functions in an insurance company setting
15. Experience with cloud technologies like Snowflake and Databricks
16. Familiarity with the MLOps framework
17. Exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills
18. Comfortable handling ambiguous concepts and breaking down complex problems into manageable pieces
19. Resilient problem solving and critical thinking skills
20. Ability to communicate effectively to different target audiences
21. Flexibility – able to meet changing requirements and priorities
22. College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent
For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$148,614 - $201,066/year
23. Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
