Your Role & Impact As Chief Data Engineer, you will: Define and enhance data platform service offerings (Lakehouse, Data Engineering, etc.) using the latest cloud and big data technologies. Spearhead innovation initiatives and guide the development of scalable Data Lake platforms and group-wide architecture standards. Engage with stakeholders to design tailored architectures aligned with strategic business needs around data engineering, AI/ML, and BI. Serve as a trusted advisor on data and cloud topics to senior leaders, shaping the organization’s digital future. Lead internal collaboration with platform, BI, and AI/ML teams to define and implement group-wide cloud data engineering requirements. Oversee the migration of on-premise data infrastructures to cloud-native platforms, ensuring architectural integrity and continuity. Conduct market analysis and concept development on cloud-native analytics ecosystems (Azure, GCP, Databricks, Hadoop, Spark, Iceberg, Delta Lake). Drive Proof of Concept and MVP development for emerging technologies and lead technical scouting. Mentor and empower leaders and experts across analytics, cloud, big data, and AI domains. Requirements University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline. 10 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 5 in leadership roles. Expertise in designing and implementing Big Data architectures and cloud-native platforms. Deep understanding of streaming analytics, delta lakes, and Lakehouse concepts. Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Rust; strong software development background. Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies (Scrum) for platform management. Proven experience leading multi-project environments and interacting with C-level stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
