Global Product Distribution has an exciting opening for a Supply Chain Automation Engineer in our new European Product Distribution Center (PDC) located in Dreieich near Frankfurt, Germany. Global Product Distribution is part of the TMG (Texas Instruments Manufacturing Group) organization. Global Product Distribution is responsible for receiving all product output from manufacturing sites, holding the output as TI inventory and processing orders for TI customers against the inventory. Customer orders can be placed either through traditional ways against TI committed delivery dates (Classic or backlog orders, to be shipped as per Estimated Ship Date or ESD) or through the use of online product availability platforms (TI.com orders, usually shipping same day). The PDC Supply Chain Automation Engineer will assist the existing PDC manager in running the daily PDC operations, and will focus on the PDC automation aspect to achieve timely execution of orders processing for inbound, storage and outbound material flows. The daily process execution will be carried out by and under the direct responsibility of the 3rd Party Logistics Service Provider (LSP/3PL). The Supply Chain Automation Engineer will be accountable for managing Swisslog, the PDC automation integrator, and for monitoring PDC metrics to achieve an efficient, timely and flawless process execution. Special work environment: This position requires to be on the PDC floor the majority of the time to monitor warehouse activities and tools stability inside the PDC, including onsite support during extended hours. Frequent conference calls with team members and stakeholders around the world are required. Some international travel may be required to support PDC projects and to interface with other PDCs located in Asia or US. What You Will Gain From this Role: Develop an in depth understanding of TI’s Global Product Distribution network Gain exposure to TI’s Logistics Service Providers as well as key internal stakeholders (TMG, Operations, Procurement, Global Transportation, Global Trade Compliance and Customer Ops/Sales) Become a key contributor to future Product Distribution Network development and Product Distribution growth roadmap Be instrumental to mature the two tier network Distribution Be part of the project team responsible for the deployment of the Batch Management warehouse management system used currently at the Frankfurt PDC to other TI fulfillment PDCs Responsibilities : Assist the Frankfurt PDC manager to manage an operation of approximately 60 people (Direct day-to-day management is under the 3PL leadership) and to run the overall warehouse operations, across Classic and TI.com orders. Be the cross organizational interface between Transportation, Trade Compliance, Customer Operations, IT, TMG Automation and other Product Distribution organizations Use and develop analytic tools and metrics to monitor the operational performance of the PDC (cycle time, quality of the operations, cost, tools stability) Update automation dashboards and metrics in collaboration with the PDC Automation team Create and maintain relevant reporting and metrics that track the above objectives, and publish reports to stakeholders at varying levels Determine patterns, opportunities for improvement and potential optimizations inside the operation (including automation) and share best practices with other PDCs as part of a continuous optimization roadmap Assists in various internal and external audits for the PDC, participate to global TMG reviews Contribute to TI supplier performance management process (aka CETRAQ) for Swisslog and 3PL Provide insights to 3PL teams on areas to improve or do differently, based on analytic insights Qualifications Required Skills/Knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or similar preferred Fluent German and English skills, both spoken and written Comfortable using a wide array of ERPs and warehouse management systems, such as: SAP, Swisslog SynQ… Supply chain certification, such as ASCM/APICS or CSCMP, is a plus for the position Team-building and project management skills Self-starter demonstrating curiosity, positive attitude, coupled with good communication and interpersonal skills Good negotiation and problem solving skills Excellent analytical abilities, experience with Excel (advanced level), Spotfire, Business Objects… Comprehensive knowledge of Product Distribution industry activities and related state of the art automation, logistics and procurement processes Familiar with latest developments in warehouses automation Pronounced interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interface with 3PL associates on the floor on a daily basis Adaptability to work in an international team that is spread all across the globe Strong analytical skills and enthusiastic about data analysis and data systems Our offer for you: Benefit from a competitive salary, yearly profit sharing (dependent on company success), flexible working hours, an unlimited contract from the beginning and many additional benefits Join an international work environment where your ideas count and where you can thrive in a diverse culture Explore a world of opportunities for your personal and professional development
