About the opportunity: Teads is seeking a highly motivated in-house commercial lawyer in the role of Legal Counsel, Commercial - EMEA, with ideally 3 to 7 years post qualification experience, to join the Commercial Legal Team. As our Legal Counsel, Commercial - EMEA, you will support the UK and EMEA business on the various commercial related legal issues that arise (including drafting, reviewing and negotiating of the full suite of Teads commercial agreements; commercial data protection/privacy; compliance, intellectual property and legal operations and processes). You will contribute to all legal commercial tasks, providing excellent support to the business’ needs and participating in creating a culture of growth, collaboration and accountability. You will be responsible for managing your own matters and driving them to completion, while also working collaboratively with your Legal team colleagues and key business stakeholders. Commercial Legal Team: The Commercial Legal Team forms part of a wider Legal Team, working alongside the Corporate and Privacy teams. Teads Commercial Legal Team is a trusted partner to the Teads business globally, providing high quality, business-focused advice and support. It is responsible for the legal work associated with supporting Tead’s revenue generating agreements with publishers, advertisers, agencies and other partners. The team is based out of various offices around the globe. The legal team’s mission is to provide proactive, responsive, high quality, result-oriented and creative services, as well as handle multiple legal and compliance challenges inline with Tead’s risk tolerance. What you can expect to work on: Support the UK and EMEA commercial teams by managing, reviewing, drafting and negotiating all forms of commercial contracts, with a focus on digital advertising, including, but not limited to publisher, advertiser, agency and programmatic contracts, data processing agreements, NDA’s and other customer and supplier commercial agreements; Act as a trusted legal adviser to the company, balancing risks and providing sound, proactive and solution oriented advice to commercial teams, resolving material legal and contractual risks alongside other legal team members; Establish and embed contracting policies to ensure timely legal assessment prior to contractual engagement, and cultivate a scalable and risk/value based approach; Assist to draft, maintain and update contract templates, playbooks and other legal documents and policies; Managing contract life cycle processes and maintaining records and contract management systems; Supporting on matters relating to commercial data privacy, content compliance and intellectual property; Keeping abreast of legal, regulatory and industry body developments in the UK and EMEA, considering the impact on the Teads business and advising accordingly; Manage certain legal team members workloads, allocation of responsibilities of commercial contracting, and represent the legal function to the Teads internal stakeholders; Contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing on legal and compliance topics. What will you bring to the team? Have 3-7 years post qualification experience gained at a leading law firm and/or as in-house counsel; Ideally have in-house commercial legal experience in adtech, digital media, or technology; Experience with EEA privacy regulations (GDPR etc.) is a plus; Have strong English drafting and negotiation skills. Ideally also in another EU language (e.g. French, German, Italian or Spanish); Have experience in matters across multiple EMEA countries; Practical, business minded lawyer; A positive, highly motivated, collaborative spirit, and a learning mindset; Thrive in working as part of a dynamic global legal team; Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; Have the ability to build credibility with very experienced internal and external stakeholders; An appetite for being a key player in a rapidly growing environment and ability to move quickly; and Have a high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
