About This Role:
This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network switching equipment, routing equipment, and security equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data communications and be able to work closely with users to understand their needs and resolve incidents/problems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Network Switching and Routing Equipment: Installation, configuration, monitoring, and incident/problem resolution
* Security Equipment: Monitoring and incident/problem resolution
* Installation and Configuration: Of part of the security equipment
* Patching and Upgrades: Systems to maintain the required security and support levels
* Performance and Capacity Management: Of the infrastructure
* User Support: Works closely with users to understand needs, define, and solve incidents/problems
* User Education: Instructs users in order to avoid recurring incidents/problems
* Staying Current: Maintains a current knowledge of changes in the data communications field
Work Environment: This position functions as Level II / Level III support and will be responsible for handling and resolving end-user tickets if level I is not able to treat them. Position is also part of the On-call role 24/7 once every 5 weeks to intervene on service interruption based on major incidents.
Requirements: Essential responsibilities include working closely with vendors and manufacturer staff to coordinate operation and repair, and to determine and correct problems that may occur during set-up and operation.
Requirements Continued: Consults with vendors and manufacturers regarding product compatibility, investigates user complaints of malfunctioning equipment; isolates the fault and makes repairs where appropriate.
