Salary: 55.000 - 70.000 € per year Requirements: We are looking for 3 years in applied ML (not necessarily professional), with at least one deployment of a computer vision system We are looking for fluency in German and English We are looking for a clear opinion about segmentation architectures and the ability to defend it We are looking for experience extracting performance from small datasets, including augmentation, transfer learning, and semi-supervised approaches We are looking for solid time series modelling skills, including feature engineering from sensor data, handling irregular sampling, autocorrelation, and non-stationarity We are looking for sufficient software engineering fundamentals to own cloud infrastructure and data pipelines without dedicated support We value a background in live cell imaging, medical imaging, industrial sensing, or the water industry We value experience with process optimisation or control systems We value familiarity with MLOps practices We value demonstrated work recognised in your field Responsibilities: We own the computer vision architecture: evaluate the existing baseline, make architectural decisions, and take full accountability for model performance in production We build and maintain cloud inference serving live testing sites across Europe We design and maintain pipelines that ingest and process live sensor data from industrial installations We build the correlation layer between vision-derived features and downstream process variables We structure model outputs as clean, documented inputs for the operator-facing interface We collaborate with our founding team to integrate operational observations with model behavior We work directly with our CTO and maintain full visibility into technical and commercial decisions from day one Technologies: Cloud Computer Vision CTO Hardware Support More: We are hiring a founding engineer for our office in Hannover to own our ML stack from first principles. You will inherit a working computer vision baseline and decide what to keep, what to replace, and what to build next.
