Minimum qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
* 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
* Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
* 3 years of experience building tools that improve development velocity, code quality, or code health.
* 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Team Overview
The team aims to make software development at Google radically more productive. We are an applied AI team working closely with research and product teams, often at the edge of technological possibilities, publishing in conferences and blogs. In this role, you will help shape the future of software development.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products, advocating for design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. We build central solutions, break down technical barriers, and influence important technical decisions across Google.
Responsibilities
* Set and communicate team priorities supporting broader organizational goals.
* Establish clear expectations, conduct regular performance and development discussions, and provide feedback and coaching.
* Develop and evolve mid-term technical goals and roadmaps within your teams.
* Design, guide, and review system designs and write code to solve ambiguous problems.
* Review code developed by others, ensuring best practices in style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
