Role Summary:
Transport Network Planner is responsible for performing the below activity in Fixed Network
* Planning of L2/L3 access and aggregation network ( POS, DLS) network elements including documentation
* Processing of fixed network trail orders (new trails, migration, clearing, deconfiguration) and capacity requests.
* Processing of switching orders, Cramer-Fixed und Cramer-Mobile (ARM & ANN) Objects, and capacity orders in the core.
Technical Skills.
* Proficiency in SDH digital hierarchy is required from fractional T1/E1 to 100G circuit level.
* Good Planning knowledge in PDH, SDH, Ethernet, and DWDM systems and Knowledge on transmission network products, like U2000 NMS, Marconi, Nortel and Ciena 6500 equipment’s etc.
* Ability to devise solutions for various projects like Site, Ring, Legacy equipment optimization and migrations.
* Good knowledge on various Telecommunication equipment’s.
* Experience to perform following tasks -. creating/editing/deleting distributors, links, nodes and other objects in Cramer
* Experience of working in an operational environment & ticketing system alongside other technical and operational teams
* Experience of identifying scope for improvement, process reviews and developing and implementing new processes
* Commitment to service excellence and customer experience
* Flexibility in a rapidly changing and developing environment
Roles & Responsibilities:
* In-depth technical knowledge of optical layer transport systems, OTN, ROADM, SDH, cross connect switching and signal grooming, as well as knowledge of ring and mesh network topologies.
* Experience in the field of SDH, DWDM & OTN technology, for creation and migration of transmission bandwidth.
* High- & Low-level Design and planning experience in SDH, DWDM & OTN systems.
* Create New Device Installation/Card/SFP 7750 SR14/SR12, 7250 IXR-6 & 7210 SAS-E /SX in Cramer Inventory system & AIDA tool.
* Add E-sat Cards in New Device and New Trail creation using MESN POS devices.
* Manage MESN HW Upgrade from IMMs to ESAT Ports
* Creation of New trails & switching orders for a migration, swap or bandwidth upgrade of WLL.
* Processing of capacity request for an enterprise customer connection with / without redundancy.
* Meet redundancy requirements with protection across MSP, MSPRING, and SNCP.
* Coordinate with various transport network teams to create design access and core network, capacity manage and optimize the network
* Create and maintain strong operational relationships with the customers, internal business owners and other key stakeholders
* Maintain a proactive approach to operational and service issues, ensuring KPIs, SLAs, service qualities are met. Review of KPIs and drive Improvement plan development and implementation
* Management of operational issues by understanding impact, identifying solution options, liaising with technical team and business owners
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
* Relevant experience in SDH/DWDM knowledge.
* Any Degree or Equivalent Qualification
* Proficient in MS Office Suite with good skills in PowerPoint and Excel.
* Good communication and Interpersonal skill.
* Basic knowledge on IP networks.
* Language: English (Proficient), German (Proficient)
* Relevant domain certifications and Cramer Inventory knowledge would be an advantage.
