The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. We are looking for a motivated working student to support our optical communications development team. The role has a strong experimental and metrology focus, including setting up and operating measurement systems. Responsibilities: Support the setup and automation of optical test benches Collaborate on developing control software for measurement instruments Characterization of optical components Analysis and documentation of experimental data Qualifications: Bachelor- or Master student in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related subjects Understanding basic concepts of optics Experience in data analysis using Excel, Python, or MATLAB Experience writing simple software programs or scripts (ideally Python or MATLAB) Basic experience with laboratory equipment such as laser sources, optical power meters, or oscilloscopes is a plus Fluent in German or English Confident use of Microsoft Office applications This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
