The Role
The Head of Global Compliance will report directly to the General Counsel and lead a team of regional compliance and ethics officers worldwide. This is a strategic and highly visible leadership position responsible for setting the direction of the global ethics and compliance programme, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and the company’s values and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and continuously enhance the global ethics and compliance management system in line with international best practices (ISO 37301, US DOJ Guidelines, etc.).
* Advise senior management and the Board on ethics and compliance strategy, risk areas, and regulatory developments.
* Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of ethics and compliance policies and procedures globally.
* Manage programmes covering anti-corruption, antitrust, trade compliance, data protection, and ESG-related ethics initiatives.
* Supervise investigations into potential breaches of law, regulation, or company policy and ensure appropriate remediation and accountability.
* Foster a strong culture of ethics, integrity, and responsible business conduct through training, communication, and awareness initiatives.
* Coordinate with internal audit, HR, sustainability, and legal teams to ensure an integrated approach to risk and governance.
* Represent the ethics and compliance function externally with regulators, partners, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in ethics, compliance, or legal roles within an international corporate or industrial environment.
* Proven leadership experience managing global teams and influencing at executive level.
* In-depth knowledge of anti-bribery, competition, export control, and data protection laws.
* Strong strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
* Fluent in English and German; additional languages advantageous.
