In order to support Aerodynamics, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
Aerodynamics Engineer - Store Release & Jettison (d/f/m)
Aerodynamics is responsible for the aerodynamic design and characterization for all military aircraft programs along their product life cycle. We use numerical simulations, wind tunnel testing and flight test to understand the aerodynamic behavior and to create and deliver aircraft representative aerodynamic data and models for stability & control, performance, loads and aeroelastics as well as establishing envelopes for safe separation of external as well as internal stores and for plume ingestion. Besides, we give support to the production in terms of assessing the aerodynamics impact on non-conformities, repairs plus in-service incidents.

Your tasks and responsibilities
You will assure conscientiously safe store separation for internally and externally carried weapons, pods, self-defensive aids in a complex interdisciplinary engineering environment for different weapon systems in collaboration with in a team of internal specialists and international partners.
As successful candidate you will
* Build-up store release and jettison database, define store properties and related constraints
* Simulate and assess store separation and support clearance recommendations
* Report and support certification activities
* Conduct computational fluid dynamics analysis including geometry definition and mesh generation
* Analyze wind tunnel measurements, prepare and support wind tunnel campaigns, ground and flight test activities
* Create SR&J aerodynamic datasets
Desired skills and qualifications
For our multinational team we are looking for candidates with the following qualities and skills:
* Master degree or Phd in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
* Profound knowledge in Aerodynamics with an affinity to Fighter Aircraft, Loads and Flight Mechanics
* Good programming skills in Python and Fortran as well as familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems
* Good analytical capabilities, reliable, assertive and stress resilient
* Loyalty and open approach with a team of store release and jettison specialists
* Ability to communicate transparently to internal and external stakeholders
* Autonomous, independent, target-oriented and flexible way of working
* Ability to prioritize technical solutions in order to balance economic constraints
* Fluent in English and German
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
