YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Characterisation of plasma sources for different applications using electrical and optical diagnostics, including electric field measurements and 3D imaging;
* Investigation of plasma-induced shock waves using background-oriented schlieren method;
* Derivation of ideal operating parameters of plasma sources for given applications;
* Writing scientific publications and participation in proposal writing.
YOUR PROFILE:
* Doctorate in plasma physics with a strong track record in studying low-temperature plasmas, particularly atmospheric-pressure plasma jets
* Strong expertise in the following plasma diagnostic techniques and instruments: high-voltage equipment, (nonlinear) optics, electrical measurements, optical emission spectroscopy (OES), electric field measurement techniques, laser spectroscopy measurements, ICCD camera imaging
* Expertise in the construction and operation of plasma setups, including remote control and data acquisition
* High level of creativity and problem-solving skills, sense of responsibility and reliability
* Experience in structured research data management and grant writing is a plus
* Very good English language skills (spoken and written), knowledge of the German language is an asset
