Responsibilities
The German Publisher Management Team helps leading media partners in the DACH region thrive on TikTok. We focus on three key verticals: Entertainment (TV broadcasters, film studios, streamers and more), Sports (broadcasters, leagues and clubs across multiple disciplines), and News (national and local newspapers, digital outlets, and broadcasters).
Our mission is to empower media organizations to bring their best stories to TikTok's community, enriching the platform with diverse content.
As part of the Operations Department, we support TikTok's broader goal of diversifying the content ecosystem and driving publisher and creator success. To achieve this, we work closely with cross-functional teams such as Product, Business Development, Global Business Solutions, Communications, or Legal. As part of a truly global team, we work hand in hand with colleagues across regions to align strategies, share best practices, and build programs that strengthen TikTok's role as a trusted partner for media publishers worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Build and nurture trusted relationships with leading news publishers in the German-speaking region — including TV broadcasters, online outlets, and national/local newspapers — driving their success and growth on TikTok.
* Develop and execute long-term strategies that position TikTok as important platform for news publishers.
* Act as the local-market compass for global partnerships and product teams: gather and translate publisher feedback into actionable insights that shape TikTok's product strategy.
* Collaborate with Central, Regional, and Local teams to align account management, business reviews, and growth strategies, ensuring strong and consistent outcomes.
* Support negotiations for content acquisition and onboard new publishers, expanding content diversity and enhancing the user experience.
* Enable partners to fully adopt TikTok's features and tools, driving engagement, content performance, and business impact.
* Engage and support publishers at scale through community management and efficient communication channels.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* You know the news industry inside out: you understand the key players, market dynamics, and unique needs of different news publishers, and you stay ahead of emerging trends.
* You have at least 5 years of experience in journalism or the media industry, with a strong track record in roles such as journalist, editor, or partnership manager.
* You have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience in the news or media industry.
* You have hands-on experience working with social media platforms or a strong understanding of how news publishers and social media companies collaborate.
* You have exceptional communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, enabling you to engage effectively with partners and stakeholders across global teams.
* You are fluent in German and fully comfortable using English in professional settings, including presentations and cross-team collaboration.

* You are a strategic thinker who uses data and insights to make pragmatic, impact-driven decisions.
* You are both a collaborative team player and an independent self-starter: you thrive in cross-functional teams and can drive projects from concept to execution.
* You have a proven track record in partner management, account support, and building long-term business relationships.
* You are comfortable working in dynamic environments and adapt well to new challenges, even when priorities shift.
