The Audiovisual Technology Lab at Huawei Munich Research Center develops innovative technologies in media sensing, processing, coding, and computer vision. The new international image coding standard – JPEG AI – is fully based on neural networks. From now on, the research focus has shifted toward video coding standard development. To support our research activities, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Intern (m/f/d) who will contribute to the research and development of end-to-end AI-based video coding solutions, with a particular focus on the development of variable rate coding functionality. Candidates who successfully complete the internship might be offered a PhD candidate position. The PhD candidate will have the opportunity to attend international conferences and present the developed technologies to the international standardization community.
