Role Summary
As a fast‑growth organisation, sometimes we run a little hot. As operations manager, you will ensure the smooth running of Kickstarting For Good and move our daily operations onto a firm, well‑organised foundation.

This role is ideal for someone who has administrative expertise and likes to build systems that can grow with an organisation – combined with a passion to move the world to a more sustainable plant‑based food system.

Based in Germany, at our dedicated incubator space in Berlin, you will be a key person in our core team – solving a wide range of problems from project tracking and implementing CRM systems, through to cohort liaison and managing finances and suppliers.

As part of a small but powerful team, you’ll also be comfortable getting hands‑on and jumping in to manage tasks directly when needed.

Salary based on skills and experience

Apply now
How to Apply: Please submit your resume and a cover letter to recruitment@kickstartingforgood.org explaining what motivates you to take on this position with Kickstarting For Good. You are welcome to include additional documents (e.g., certificates, degrees, etc.). We encourage all applicants to apply without including a photo or specifying their date or place of birth.

The next steps include:

First Screening

Video Call with People and Culture (about 30-40 mins)

Online Trial Task (max. 2h)

A second team interview (about 1hr)

Key responsibilities

Become the primary administrative coordinator for K4G, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, diligent task management and delivery and accurate project tracking.

Take a lead on the implication of efficient CRM, project tracking and team management platforms – including leading the selection and implementation of new software as needed.

Investigate and oversee where K4G can better use AI in our day‑to‑day operations and activities.

Solve the problem of efficiently managing K4G’s incoming enquiries, from both new contacts and our cohort and mentors.

Become our liaison with ProVeg’s internal teams, including finance, grants, office management, events and HR to create a frictionless relationship with our parent organisation.

Be able to track and progress important documentation, including cohort contracts and travel grants.

Take ownership of our incubator space to ensure it is a productive and well‑maintained workspace.

Be happy to offer logistical and operational support to the team when needed, and identify where we can build better systems and processes to avoid us hitting such bottlenecks in the first place.

Qualifications:
Required:

Alignment to K4G’s core goal of transforming the food system towards a healthier, more sustainable, plant‑based future.

Previous professional experience in operations roles, preferably in a non‑profit, charity or NGO environment.

Excellent, fluent level of both written and spoken English.

Highly‑motivated with a superior level of organisation, allowing you to plan your work to achieve a goal and manage multiple projects independently.

Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, high‑impact entrepreneurial environment and to be able to embrace new directions and solve challenges as they emerge.

Flexible and happy to be ‘hands‑on’ when situations require it.

An excellent level of IT proficiency, with an attention to detail and process‑driven systemic mentality.

Ability to forward‑plan to spot the bottle‑necks and pitfalls before we reach them.

A high level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

An interest in start‑ups or entrepreneurship – especially if you have ever started or built your own initiative or historically worked in a start‑up or early‑years organisation.

A conversational level of German is useful especially for communicating with local suppliers and organisations.

Experience with Google Workspace, Notion, Slack or other similar platforms.

Interest in adjacent cause areas that have the potential to create a positive impact in the world.

A top‑level knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping and business filing, especially for registering or starting up new European or US‑based charities (or a willingness to learn and lead the process if required).

Benefits of working with us

Flexible working hours with the option of compensating overtime with time off.

Full remote work with the option to work in our Berlin Office.

Option to work temporarily from abroad (in compliance with the 183‑day annual limit)

25 days basic holiday (FTE) plus one additional day of holiday per year (additional days of holiday can be “bought” via small salary adjustments).

A respectful working atmosphere in a highly motivated team.

A strong focus on personal development and a designated training budget.

Provision of a work laptop and access to a well‑equipped office in Berlin Tiergarten.

Mindfulness programme and mental wellbeing – free membership for Open Up und Headspace.

We are an inclusive workplace for our diverse employees around the world and encourage everyone in our organisation to bring all aspects of themselves to work.

And last but not least: Join a great team and work with us to create a world where everyone chooses delicious and healthy food that is good for all people, animals and our planet!

About us
The Kickstarting For Good incubator is a 15‑week programme, combining virtual (online) phases with two in‑person weeks in Berlin, Germany.
During the programme, participants learn the skills, theory and mindset needed to create a high‑impact initiative, guided by high‑caliber mentors and programme advisors, culminating in a final pitch day at our incubator space in Berlin.

In 2025, we incubated 18 initiatives who are working to change the food system to a plant‑forward future and awarded more than $200,000 in grants and seed funding. Collectively, the initiatives that we have helped kick‑start have raised $10 million in philanthropic funding since 2022.

ProVeg International is a food awareness organisation working to transform the global food system by replacing 50% of animal products globally with plant‑based and cultivated foods by 2040. ProVeg engages with all relevant stakeholders to create a food system where everyone chooses delicious and healthy food that is good for all humans, animals, and our planet. ProVeg has received the United Nations’ Momentum for Change Award and works closely with key UN food and environment agencies. ProVeg creates global impact, with offices in 14 countries across five continents and more than 220 employees.

Diversity Statement
ProVeg is committed to equal employment opportunity for all, regardless of race, religion, colour, sex, age, national origin or ancestry, refugee background, genetic information, disability, marital status, parental status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, HIV status, gender identity, gender expression, or gender characteristics.

In 2020, ProVeg has signed the German Diversity Charter, a voluntary pledge and non‑profit organisation that promotes the recognition, appreciation and integration of diversity in business culture.

In 2021, ProVeg took part in the Inklupreneur project and has set the goal of creating nine inclusive positions for people living with disabilities over the next three years.

In 2022, ProVeg has scored 88.1% in the PRIDE Index, the LGBTIQ+ Diversity Performance Index, over 20 percentage points above the overall average of 67.9%.
