Around the world, intensive efforts are underway to improve the use of artificial intelligence. Optimizing the basic hardware components required for the enormous computing power needed plays a crucial role in this. The development of application-specific circuits and (sub)systems is key to realizing groundbreaking applications. What you will do
* Scientific responsibility : You will lead the development of modern CMOS circuit design methods on a project basis.
* Project management : You will acquire and manage exciting research projects or sub-projects in close cooperation with other groups and departments at Fraunhofer IAF.
* Team leadership : You will design, plan, and manage the workflows in your team and be the point of contact for all questions relating to project acquisition and processing.
* Communication professional : You inform your team about important departmental matters and are in regular contact with the institute's departmental management and national and international project partners.
* Mentor : You promote the professional qualification of your employees and participate in the selection and development of new talent.
What you bring to the table
* Academic background : You have a degree (diploma/master's) in electrical engineering, computer science, microsystems technology, communications engineering, or a comparable field—ideally supplemented by a doctorate.
* Practical experienc e: You have in-depth knowledge of project acquisition and management and are well versed in and enthusiastic about CMOS digital technology and artificial intelligence.
* Technological expertise : You are comfortable using circuit simulation software such as Cadence Virtuoso or Keysight ADS and enjoy doing so.
* Team spirit and strong communication skills : You enjoy working in a team and have strong communication and organizational skills that enable you to interact effectively with colleagues.
* Personal responsibility and internationality : Your independent, goal-oriented way of working is complemented by business fluent English skills, which will benefit you in an international work environment.

The weekly working hours are 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis. The position is initially limited to three years, but the aim is to establish a longer-term collaboration.
