<p>The Market Surveillance Office of EEX monitors exchange trading to ensure the adherence to our rules and regulations, as well as national and international law. We are looking for a new senior legal advisor to join our Investigations Team. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues from different disciplines, providing legal expertise across a broad range of regulatory and surveillance-related matters and actively contributing to the integrity of energy markets.<br><br><strong>Your tasks:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide internal legal advice to the Market Surveillance team on regulatory and compliance-related matters</li>
<li>Draft legal opinions and written legal assessments on complex regulatory issues</li>
<li>Contribute legal analyses to investigation reports, including assessments of potential market abuse</li>
<li>Explain and represent the work and results of Market Surveillance vis-à-vis external supervisory and regulatory authorities</li>
<li>Monitor, analyse and interpret new and existing regulatory requirements (e.g. EU energy and financial market regulation)</li>
<li>Engage in professional exchange with legal experts at other exchanges, authorities and institutions regarding the implementation and application of applicable regulations</li>
<li>Support the continuous development of internal processes and legal standards within Market Surveillance</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Your skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Fully qualified lawyer (e.g. German Volljurist or equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction)</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of regulatory law, ideally with a focus on energy markets, financial markets or capital markets regulation</li>
<li>Experience in working with regulatory authorities or in a regulated environment is highly desirable</li>
<li>Excellent analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and convincingly</li>
<li>Confident communication skills and the ability to represent legal positions in discussions with internal and external stakeholders</li>
<li>Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken) is required</li>
