Cloud Infrastructure Specialist
The role of Cloud Infrastructure Specialist involves the deployment and management of cloud-based infrastructure.
• Migrate products to cloud platforms using container technology such as Kubernetes and provisioning platforms like vRealize Automation.
• Analyze legacy architecture and identify key weaknesses, including security, reliability, simplicity, performance, operational agility, and automation.
• Collaborate with technical architects and operational teams to design out weaknesses and implement improvements.
• Develop solutions that utilize cloud computing principles to improve scalability, flexibility, and efficiency.
• Manage and maintain cloud resources, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards for cloud operations.
• Participate in the development of cloud strategies and roadmaps to align with business goals.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among team members to drive innovation and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing to inform strategic decisions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with existing systems and processes.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
* Strong experience with container provisioning platforms like Kubernetes
* Basic understanding of programming concepts
* Knowledge of one or more programming/scripting languages (Python, Javascript, Bash)
* Extensive experience in AWS
* Understanding of computer networking and virtualization
* Able to build collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Familiarity with Argo CD, Artifactory (nexus), and API gateway
* Knowledge of Kafka and GitLab
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Initiative, accuracy, and attention to detail
* Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
* Maintain documentation for operational/support processes
* Handle tickets within defined SLAs
* Be prepared for on-call support in a 24/7 environment and shift mode 7-20
Preferred Skills:
* Experience deploying and operating public and private cloud frameworks
* Expertise in Kubernetes, AWS
* Familiarity with service design in cloud-based solutions
* Staying current with new technologies and techniques
* Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes
* Kubernetes certification is considered an asset
