Job Description:
In this role, you will define the next generation of networking and connectivity solutions, incorporating Ethernet, USB, and PCI Express interfaces across commercial, industrial, and automotive-focused applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Define architecture concepts for new silicon and system products based on customer requirements and use cases
2. Collaborate closely with product marketing and end customers to shape product requirements
3. Develop architecture specifications in cooperation with silicon and software architects
4. Design functional safety and cybersecurity concepts for new products and perform related analyses with subject matter experts
5. Coordinate global cross-functional teams throughout the full product development lifecycle to ensure quality, safety, and functional requirements are met
6. Define approved vendor lists for companion chipsets used in product validation
7. Develop reference designs and promote new companion silicon solutions in collaboration with other business units
8. Establish and maintain technical partnerships with other semiconductor vendors, including joint reference designs and evaluation hardware
9. Support pre-production customer engagements and collaborative technical development activities
10. Develop and deliver technical training (webinars, workshops) for customers, sales teams, and field application engineers
11. Create technical documentation such as application notes, datasheets, safety manuals, and reference designs
Requirements/Qualifications:
12. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
13. Minimum 8+ years of relevant industry experience
14. Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality engineering documentation
15. Experience in silicon or system architecture, applications engineering, or systems engineering roles
16. Experience in at least two of the following areas:Digital IC designMixed-signal and analog IC designHardware design (schematic capture / PCB layout)Firmware/software development
17. Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams
Preferred Experience
18. Specification and requirements development for embedded systems
19. Debugging across physical to application layers for interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, PCI Express, etc.
20. Embedded programming experience (e.g., C/C++, Rust) in Linux, Zephyr, or bare-metal environments
21. Installation and debugging of drivers and software packages on Windows, Linux, or other operating systems
22. Scripting and prototyping experience (e.g., Python, LabVIEW)
23. Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, function generators)
24. Experience developing and delivering technical training
25. Direct customer-facing experience (support, field applications engineering, training)
26. Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) or equivalent frameworks
27. Experience with PCB CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Siemens Xpedition/PADS)
28. Familiarity with quality management processes, including requirements, change, and version control management
