Hauptaufgaben The position manages the review, analysis, and maintenance of medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards. Responsibilities include filing test results, retrieving and delivering records for appointments, locating missing documentation, updating tracking systems, and supporting quality assurance reviews. The role also handles the release of medical information in accordance with the Privacy Act, HIPAA, and related regulations. This includes researching and abstracting data from records, verifying authorization, coordinating with legal when needed, briefing patients and agencies on release policies, processing billing actions, maintaining detailed request logs, and scanning or copying records for authorized distribution. Additional duties include providing technical and administrative support to medical staff and committees by preparing abstracts, reports, and data presentations. The position extracts information from computerized systems, assists with clinical record reviews, and offers guidance on medico‑legal documentation requirements. It also performs general support tasks such as screening calls, assisting patients, managing supplies, preparing documents for scanning, and using office automation software to produce a variety of documents and reports. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifikationsanforderungen C-05: E&T Level I: 2 years of general experience PLUS 1 year of job related experience as described below Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation, must have 2 years of creditable experience that included simple clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc. E&T Level II: 1 year of general experience PLUS 1 year of job related experience as described below E&T Level III A and IV A: No additional experience required, however, the completed apprenticeship must have been as a Doctor's Assistant, or in a commercial, business or administrative occupation, e.g. Industriekaufmann/ frau, Kaufmann/frau im Gross und Einzelhandel, or in steuer- und wirtschaftsberatenden Berufen, Rechtsanwaltskanzleien, Banken or similar occupations. E&T Level III B and C: No additional experience required. E&T Level IV B and C: Not creditable for positions in this occupational series E&T Level IV D and V: No additional experience required. Non-US citizen family members and German citizens are exempt from this requirement. * Your permanent residence must be within Germany. * Police Good Conduct Certificate (Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis): On initial appointment, or re-appointment after a break in service, candidates who have been selected for a position must present a police good-conduct certificate prior to appointment to the position. The applicant must obtain the certificate from the local resident registration office. The cost for the certificate is not reimbursable. We recommend ensuring at the time of application that at least two of these documents are available or requested. * Foreign National Screening (Sicherheitsüberprüfung): In accordance with U.S. Army Europe Regulation 604-1, within three days after appointment, a background check will be initiated to determine suitability for continued employment with the U.
