About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Managing Director / Business Unit Leader to take full operational and strategic responsibility for a specialised business unit focused on digital infrastructure services, including modelling, geospatial data processing, and infrastructure mapping solutions.
The role combines full P&L ownership, operational leadership, and strategic development within a fast-growing, technology-driven organisation operating in the infrastructure and engineering services sector.
You will lead a high-performing business unit delivering complex, data-driven services to major infrastructure projects, working closely with internal service functions such as HR, Finance, IT, and Sales, as well as external customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
General Management & P&L Ownership
* Full responsibility for the business unit’s financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and cash flow
* Define and execute the strategic roadmap for sustainable growth
* Ensure operational excellence across all delivery activities
Operational Leadership
* Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across project delivery, operations, and technical functions
* Ensure high-quality execution of complex infrastructure-related projects
* Drive efficiency, standardisation, and scalable operational structures
Strategic Growth
* Identify and execute organic and inorganic growth opportunities
* Expand service offerings in digital infrastructure, modelling, and geospatial services
* Develop and maintain key customer and partner relationships
Transformation & Scaling
* Build scalable organisational structures and processes
* Integrate acquired businesses into the wider organisation
* Drive digitalisation, automation, and process optimisation initiatives
Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary representative of the business unit internally and externally
* Collaborate closely with group-level functions (HR, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales)
* Manage senior-level client relationships in infrastructure and engineering sectors
Your Profile
* Proven experience in a Managing Director, Business Unit Head, or senior executive role
* Strong background in infrastructure, engineering services, rail, utilities, geospatial, or industrial technology environments
* Demonstrated full P&L responsibility (mid-sized to large organisation or division)
* Experience leading complex, project-driven or service-based businesses
* Strong track record in scaling organisations and driving operational transformation
* Experience working in multi-stakeholder, technically complex environments
* Familiarity with digitalisation, data-driven services, or engineering workflows (e.g. GIS, BIM, surveying, modelling) is highly desirable
