For KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA, we are looking for a dedicated Senior Technical Assistant (m/f/d) to join the Native Traits and Digital Phenotyping team in the area of maize and oil crops. The position involves a wide range of tasks in the application of breeding technologies, greenhouse management, and seed administration in the context of plant breeding.
This exciting and varied position is permanent and full-time at our Einbeck location.
Your Responsibilities
1. Practical implementation of trait development, e.g., resistance and quality traits in sunflower, maize, and sorghum
2. Autonomous planning, coordination, and execution of established research projects in the field and greenhouse
3. Support in the development and establishment of new protocols and methods (e.g., field phenotyping, digital tools)
4. Provision, management, and documentation of seed material as well as maintenance of relevant database systems
5. Independent scheduling and technical guidance of temporary staff
6. Routine analyses and quality control of digital phenotyping data
7. Careful preparation and analysis of experimental data in close collaboration with scientists
Your Profile
8. Completed vocational training as ATA/PT (or equivalent qualification)
9. Strong practical experience working with plants and seed material; knowledge in plant breeding
10. Confident use of PC applications and common office software as well as interest in digital technologies
11. Strong team spirit, communication skills, and a cooperative working style
12. High motivation and a reliable, precise, and independent approach to work
13. Good English skills, both written and spoken
14. Willingness to work weekends during seasonal peaks
15. Willingness to undertake international business travel (approx. 25%)
16. High willingness to start work early due to the practical nature of the tasks
