Opportunity Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategically oriented communications leader with a robust background in communications, public affairs, and/or government relations. This pivotal role demands sharp business acumen, agility, and a proactive approach to execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee all Communications & Government Relations activities across Europe.
* Manage and develop a high-performing regional team, providing strategic guidance and professional growth opportunities.
* Coordinate regional political affairs efforts in line with global strategies, engaging with policymakers and regulators.
* Align regional initiatives with global CGR strategies, messaging, and priorities.
Brand Management
* Contribute to evolving the Hitachi Energy brand narrative as part of the global CGR leadership team.
* Ensure consistent brand positioning across all regional communication channels.
* Protect brand integrity while customizing messaging for regional markets.
Strategic Communication Planning
* Develop and execute integrated internal and external communication strategies supporting business growth and employee engagement.
* Lead regional planning and budgeting for CGR activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Collaborate with regional hubs and global teams for effective strategy implementation.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
* Inspire and lead a team of communication professionals, fostering collaboration and excellence.
* Build cross-functional relationships to ensure unified communication approaches.
* Advise senior management and regional leaders on communication strategies.
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in communications, media, public, or government affairs, preferably in multinational organizations.
* Proven expertise across communication disciplines including media relations, internal communications, digital media, and crisis management.
* Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking skills.
* Deep understanding of communication tools and regional tailoring strategies.
* Digital fluency with social media and digital platforms.
* Commercial awareness linking communication to business outcomes.
* Global mindset with multicultural competence.
* Experience in the energy or technology sectors in Europe is advantageous.
* Executive presence with the ability to influence and advise leadership.
* Proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
