Summary
We are growing and are currently looking for an Oracle Database Administrator with a focus on Oracle Spatial. The role will be aligned to one of our European office locations including Swindon (UK), Brno (CZE), Lisbon (POR), Madrid (ESP), Milan (ITA), Warsaw (POL) or Neunkirchen (DEU).
You will be responsible for conducting (partial) projects with a focus on Network Information Systems for the markets of electricity, gas, water, wastewater, district heating, and telecommunications. This includes project steps such as:
o Analysis and specification of customer requirements
o Implementation of adjustments through configuration of existing software modules or database tables
o Installation, testing, acceptance, and implementation of the software solution
o Quality, deadline, and project documentation in all planning phases
You will conduct technical customer presentations and prepare them as well.
You will act as an interface to project management and customer support.
Experience and Skills
* You have completed a technical (university) degree (e.g., in geoinformatics, computer science, information technology, or surveying).
* You have very good knowledge and many years of experience in the administration of Oracle databases (comparable to Oracle Certified Professional for Oracle Database Administration I + II).
* Your good MS SQL Server knowledge complements your database knowledge.
* You possess very good IT skills in the area of Microsoft operating systems, especially in the configuration/administration of IIS, MSMQ, Active Directory, Group Policies, as well as in the network field.
* You have gained professional experience in project work.
* You are proficient in scripting languages like MS PowerShell or Perl, ideally supplemented by programming experience in .NET languages.
* Experience with network information systems, geographic information systems, web portals, as well as knowledge and practical experience in the energy industry are advantageous for this role.
* You think in a structured manner and impress with your goal- and success-oriented work style.
* You have good English and very good German language skills in both written and spoken forms.
* You are willing to undertake occasional business trips.
* Good and proven communication skills with customers and peers, both in writing as well as in face-to-face sessions. You can engage in deep interactive discussions extract the necessary information you need and explain what is needed.
