【Role Overview】
As a Project Leader in Design Modeling, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering high-quality design models that translate creative visions into physical and digital representations. You will work closely with designers, engineers, and management to ensure the alignment of design intent with technical feasibility, overseeing projects from early concept through to production-ready models.
【Key Responsibilities】
• Manage and coordinate the design modeling activities (both digital and physical).
• Define design modeling goals, timelines, and resources in alignment with studio leadership.
• Ensure seamless collaboration with suppliers.
• Ensure seamless collaboration across design, engineering, and prototype workshops.
• Oversee the creation of digital surface models (Class A / CAS) and physical clay or milling models.
• Ensure models accurately capture and communicate the design intent.
• Provide feedback and direction to modelers to refine aesthetics, proportions, and surfacing.
• Process & Quality Management
• Drive design reviews with senior management, presenting models at key milestones.
• Implement best practices in digital modeling and physical build processes.
• Ensures quality standards, accuracy, and feasibility of models are met within project deadlines.
• Team & Stakeholder Communication
• Act as the main contact between design leadership, modelers, and engineering teams.
• Facilitate workshops and review sessions with cross-functional teams.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to modeling team members.
【Qualifications & Skills】
• Degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in automotive design modeling, with leadership or coordination responsibilities.
• Strong expertise in digital modeling tools (e.g., Alias, ICEM Surf, Blender, VRED, Catia) and/or physical clay modeling processes.
• Excellent understanding of automotive design development, from concept to production.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining design quality.
• Fluency in English required and German language
【Location】
Munich, Germany – onsite presence required, with occasional travel to partner studios or engineering facilities.
