We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the overall internal control environment across operations is fit for purpose and effective in mitigating risks.
The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in risk management and a passion for promoting sustainable forestry practices. They will work closely with stakeholders to analyze the control environment, identify hotspots, and implement remedial action as needed.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
* Enterprise Risk Management Framework:
o Develop and review a fit-for-purpose risk management process that includes revising risk categories appetite, policies, and processes around Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
o Conduct risk assessments and maintenance of the quarterly risk register, identifying, estimating, monitoring, and mitigating risks.
* Control Environment:
o Enhance the internal control environment by collaborating with leads across the organization to develop and adhere to minimum control standards based on good business practices.
o Support the development and maintenance of a monthly dashboard on financial risks, identify lessons learned, and root causes of recurring systemic issues in the operation that present high risks to the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field.
* Certified accountant.
* Minimum 5 years progressive post-qualification experience in finance and at least 3 years of working in a similar management role.
* At least 3 years of experience mitigating a broad range of strategic and operational risks gained in a comparable environment.
* At least 3 years of experience investigating suspicions of fraud and supporting organizations prevent, detect, and respond to fraud.
