Research Scientist Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Research Scientist to contribute to our team at the Institute of Physiological Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry.
The successful candidate will work on a project titled "Targeting Extracellular Matrix Remodelling in Cutaneous Wounds to Promote Better Healing" as part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN). This project aims to develop novel diagnostic tools for mapping and quantifying collagenase activity within wounded tissue.
Key responsibilities include generating collagenase-sensitive probes whose cleavage site depends on native triple-helical conformation of collagen, equipping these probes with FRET- and FLIM-capable molecular moieties, determining characteristic features of the probes, and using the probes to localize and quantify collagenase activity in damaged tissue.
The candidate will also be responsible for assessing the inhibition of collagenase-targeting tools on different collagenases and developing non-cleavable homologs of the collagenase-sensitive probes that block the active site of collagenases.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and qualified individual to contribute to cutting-edge research and advance their career in the field of physiological chemistry and pathobiochemistry.
