Angestellte/r (Materialverwaltung) Kaiserslautern, Germany Ausschreibungsbereich WHO MAY APPLY ?: Current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany. This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany. AND EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany. Hauptaufgaben Serves as a Supply Technician, on a rotational basis as directed, within the Receiving/Storage and Special Handling Branch. Performs operations to include receiving, bin storage, bulk storage, vault, Hazmat, compressed gases, and refrigerated materials, performing one or a combination of the following supply functions: Receives a variety of military standard and/or commercial type medical, dental, optical, and veterinary items/materiel together with supporting documentation from Prime Vendors, Depots, registered mail, and local vendors. Initially checks incoming shipments for completeness, correctness and proper condition. For standard items, verifies item identification data (stock number, part numbers, nomenclature, unit of issue, etc.) by reviewing computerized due-in files and medical catalogs. For commercial type shipments, researches all kinds of identification documents and web pages to identify and annotate proper military identification codes. Receives and books all materiel into the computerized system. For controlled medical materiel and substances, such as, drugs, precious metals, etc. closely monitors and maintains constant security precautions and recordkeeping. Initiates Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR) for overages, shortages, incorrect stock number, short dated or expired materiel, and visually damaged caused by transportation. Determines proper unit of issue and arranges for repacking, as appropriate. Reviews pertinent labels to determine appropriate storage site and storage bin. Conducts re-consignment actions (cross docking) as necessary. Segregates and moves materiel to staging area for replenishment, which includes physical lifting and carrying of materiel up to 20 kg. Places items requiring special handling into holding area for subsequent pick-up. Picks, sorts, packs, and marks items for shipment/issue ensuring compliance with supporting documentation. Receives and sorts by priority, request for issue of times (transfer orders/TO) and checks item identification codes in the computerized system for completeness and correctness in order to properly identify and pick items. Places special emphasis (quality control) on picking, sorting, and packing the correct stock number, with expiration data and quantity. Packs supplies and equipment, including items of a fragile and sensitive nature, in boxes, crates, cartons, or other containers for shipping or storage, which requires long periods of standing. Verifies, correct packing of hazardous materiel, including the MSDS paperwork and marks the box according to the IATA requirements. Transcribes specific data required for update of the computerized system. Processes priority and special handling requests immediately upon receipt. Determines correct storage area and ensures that items stored are replenished and protected against damage, deterioration and pilferage. Determines over, short or misplaced items and independently initiates corrective action. Conducts regular and special inventories, which requires long periods of walking, bending, stretching and reaching. Provides information/input to daily storage activity reports. Conducts re-warehousing, bin/storage unit, location surveys, re-stratification, empty bin checks, and warehouse maintenance/cleaning, which again requires physical exertion to a certain degree. Performs a variety of quality control information/data updating using computers, scanners, web-based tools to add or delete the QC data files for item location, potency dates, lot numbers, manufacturer, inspection dates, etc. Queries the system to research discrepancies between quantities on the record and actual quantities maintained in location and initiates corrective actions independently. In addition, checks pertinent information such as stock number, unit of issue, intermediate package quantity, storage/handling notes, etc. in the system to ensure supplies are properly maintained. Operates motorized material handling equipment (MHE), powered by either battery, propane, gasoline or diesel, such as a stock selector or forklift trucks in order to lift loads weighing under 10,000 pounds as high as 15 feet. The MHEs are operated to load/unload, transfer, transport, stack/unstack palletized goods, boxes, crates, merchandise, materiel and supplies from one location to another. Drive MHEs over wood, concrete, or similar type floors through narrow aisles in buildings, warehouse facilities, and occasionally outside over rough surfaces. Follows general safety practices in operating equipment and performs operator's maintenance on equipment. Cross-trains new employees and/or U.S. military service members in Supply Technician functions and performs other duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below. E&T Level II: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below. E&T Level III and above: No additional experience required. Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade. Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc. • Applicants must be in possession of German driver's license class B. • Applicants must be in possession of a Forklift Operator License. • Office Automation skills required.
