Lead and Manage Technicians and GS Staff Supervise and support all technicians and general service staff. Provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship while maintaining a positive shop culture. Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for attendance, conduct, quality, and production goals. Maintain leadership boundaries: ensure accountability without covering mistakes, bypassing policies, or using work assignments as rewards or punishments. Protect the customer experience and company reputation by preventing avoidable errors and enforcing quality standards. Training and Development Identify individual team training needs and coordinate ongoing technician training. Provide on-the-job training and guidance in diagnostics. Direct staff to engage in available learning opportunities to develop skills. Quality, Accountability, and Production Enforce processes and quality standards to prevent losses. Audit repair orders daily to ensure complete notes, sellable/warrantable recommendations, and correct parts. Hold technicians accountable for attendance, conduct, quality, and production goals. Oversee comebacks and warranty issues, identifying mistakes and preventing repeats. Assist the GM with managing workflow and proactively dispatching work to meet production goals. Leadership and Administration Support the GM with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and written reprimands. Conduct quarterly performance reviews and complete required leadership reading. Inventory and maintain shop equipment and special tools; inspect for safety and report issues to GM. Hands-On Work Continue to function as a technician, ensuring that leadership responsibilities do not compromise customer service or shop quality. Requirements At least 5 years of automotive experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must be a team player with a professional attitude - culture is everything! Strong work ethic with the ability to adapt and learn.
