Junior Test Engineer for Powertrain & Charging

Responsibilities
1. Develop E-Drive powertrain and charging interoperability test cases for software and system integration and qualification following functional specification.
2. Identify and evaluate the necessary tools, conduct needs assessment, and control the procurement of test infrastructure if necessary.
3. Budget planning, technical definition, coordination, planning, and provision of test resources.
4. Plan, execute, and analyze test runs for regression and release testing in an agile context.
5. Coordinate and execute test activities with internal and external teams.
6. Provide continuous test feedback to systems and software stakeholders.
7. Analyze CAN traces to narrow down root causes of failed test cases and customer issues.
8. Monitor test progress, rate the test results, and create test reports using test metrics.
9. Ensure milestones of “full function”, bug zero, and approvals.
10. Identify priority and critical issues during the project process and provide guidance to team members.
Qualifications
1. Successfully completed university degree in an engineering field (computer science, electrical engineering, automotive engineering) or comparable qualification.
2. Previous experience in testing and functionality of e-drive components and systems is an advantage.
3. Basic knowledge of closed-loop controllers, power electronics, and electrical motors is an advantage.
4. Knowledge of higher programming languages such as Python or C++ is an advantage.
5. Practical knowledge of different communication buses (CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, MOST, FlexRay, Ethernet, and PLC) and OBD protocols/standards (e.g. J1939, J1979, UDS).
6. Familiarity with various testing tool chains such as Vector, INCA, etc.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, good perception, and technical understanding.
8. Preference for working in teams and strong communication skills (English, German).
9. Readiness to travel in Germany and internationally is expected.
10. Driving license class B.
