The Senior Marketing Manager Mission:
As Senior Marketing Manager for Speedo Germany, you will lead the brand in one of our most important European markets. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive growth, expand Speedo’s cultural footprint and shape how the brand shows up across Germany’s unique and influential swim community.
You will be the vision‑setter and cultural builder, translating global strategy into locally resonant campaigns that inspire consumers, strengthen community, and unlock commercial performance. We’re looking for a trailblazer—a brand builder with the ambition, leadership experience, and creativity to grow both communities and business.
This is a role for someone who sees the nuances of the German market and knows how to turn them into opportunity: culture, community, retail environment, media behaviours and sport traditions
How you'll drive success:
Strategic Leadership & Integrated Marketing
* Working with the Head of EMEA Marketing to lead the German marketing function with a clear strategic vision, shaping the brand’s market presence and long‑term growth trajectory.
* Develop and deliver the German integrated marketing plan, translating global direction into locally relevant retail, digital, PR, experiential and community initiatives with a solutions-oriented mindset.
* Drive culturally resonant “Glocal” activations that elevate Speedo's relevance in Germany’s swim landscape, creating both brand consideration and commercial growth.
* Set measurable KPIs, analyse performance and present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
* Work cross‑functionally with Sales, Product, Creative, Sports Marketing, Merchandising, E‑commerce and Global Brand teams to deliver cohesive 360° campaigns.
Community Building, PR & Experiential
* Lead experiential and community marketing from concept through to execution—URL to IRL—delivering disruptive, culturally aligned brand moments across Germany.
* Build and nurture local communities, partnerships and cultural connections to strengthen Speedo’s presence and influence.
* Maintain strong awareness of the German media, creator, cultural and sports ecosystems to inform partnerships, talent opportunities and breakthrough ideas.
* Oversee PR agency relationships, define earned media strategy and review creator/talent proposals to ensure local impact and KPI delivery. Building new external agency and freelance creative support as required, with experience briefing, tendering and reviewing agency pitches.
* Partner with Sports Marketing and Social and Community teams to activate athletes, federations, inclusive of the DSV and wider swim networks through integrated, high‑impact experiences.
Retail & Partner Marketing
* Evolve Speedo’s approach to German retail and wholesale partners, ensuring activations are consumer-first, brand-building and commercially effective.
* Lead the Germany retail marketing execution, including go‑to‑market planning, in‑store storytelling, seasonal campaigns and digital retail assets.
* Build and manage relationships with key retail accounts to increase visibility, enhance shopper experiences and drive sell‑through.
* Partner closely with Commercial teams to ensure brand and business strategies are aligned and mutually reinforcing.
Consumer Insight & Market Understanding
* Lead ongoing analysis of consumer behaviour, shopper insights, market trends and competitor activities, partnering with Insights and cross‑functional teams.
* Advocate for the German consumer across all touchpoints, ensuring insights shape campaigns, retail execution and storytelling.
* Leverage insights to identify cultural, community and brand‑building opportunities unique to the German market.
Performance, Budget Management & Content Delivery
* Monitor campaign and retail performance across sales uplift, engagement, footfall, EMV, share of search and ROI.
* Deliver structured, data‑driven reporting and recommendations to optimise future initiatives.
* Own the German marketing budget, ensuring effective investment, strong ROI and alignment with commercial and global priorities.
* Oversee production and deployment of all Germany marketing assets, including POS, digital content, campaign toolkits and media materials.
* Provide clear content and messaging guidance across PR, social and retail channels to ensure unified brand expression.
Leadership, Collaboration & Representation
* Manage and mentor a Marketing Executive, creating a high‑performance, growth‑minded team culture.
* Represent Speedo at key industry events, federation partnerships and retail meetings as a credible brand ambassador and thought leader.
* Advocate for the needs of the German market, asserting brand marketing strategies with confidence and clarity with commercial and merchandising teams.
What you'll need to thrive:
* Fluent German (written and spoken) and confident English communication skills.
* A bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in marketing, ideally within sports, apparel, or consumer goods.
* Proven track record of leading marketing teams and delivering impactful campaigns .
* Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate global brand vision into local execution.
* Prior experience in a global or local brand marketing remit, including management of brand partners, PR agencies and media.
* Previous experience executing and rolling out brand campaigns with content creation a plus.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Data-driven mindset with experience in campaign analysis and performance optimisation.
* A genuine passion for marketing and the Speedo brand, with a strong desire to learn, grow, and make an impact in a dynamic, international environment.
