Your mission
We are a rapidly growing international company at the forefront of sustainable mobility solutions. Most of our bikes in 300 locations across 20+ countries can be rented easily through our in-house developed nextbike app, giving millions of users a seamless and eco-friendly mobility experience.
To strengthen the app team at our headquarters in Leipzig, we’re looking for passionate talent to help design and enhance our customer-facing products, as well as develop in-house apps and tools that keep our operations running smoothly. The following tasks await you:
* You build and maintain our Android application
* Collaborate with the design and iOS team to ensure a consistent user experience
* You contribute to the shared Kotlin Multiplatform codebase for business logic
* Write and run snapshot tests for UI components and automated UI tests (using Maestro)
* You follow our established CI/CD pipelines and our versioning scheme
* Participate in pull request reviews to maintain high code quality and use our Git-based workflow effectively
Your profile
* At least 5 years of relevant, full-time experience as a mid to senior Android developer
* Strong English language skills (minimum C1), additional German skills are appreciated
* Strong experience developing native Android applications using Kotlin and Coroutines, and hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose
* Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) or eagerness to learn and work within a shared codebase
* Experience building UIs based on Figma (nearly) pixel-perfect, and working with the MVVM architectural pattern
* Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines & framework testing (including UI and snapshot testing)
* You're a collaborative team player who can work effectively with both Android and iOS developers - experience in iOS development (Swift) is a plus
* Willingness to work on-site at least twice a week at our headquarters in Leipzig-Plagwitz
