Core Responsibilities :
* Involvement with the activities and implementation of data analyzes and management softwares for the SKAO
* Active participation in the SKA Regional Center Network (SRCNet)
* Implementation of efficient avenues of computation, eg, through DASK/xarrays, casacore, GPU-based imaging of visibilities, etc., and exploitation of novel data science techniques, eg, Bayesian methods, machine learning, data provenance, etc.
Core Requirements:
* A PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Astrophysics or equivalent field of research.
* Experience with data science related to chunking/striping of large data arrays, efficient array manipulations and FFT algorithms, MPI, etc. Proficiency in CPU-based programming, eg, C, C++, FORTRAN, python, java. Experience with GPU programming is desirable.
* Familiarity with workflow managers, eg, CWL, AirFlow, REANA, Stimela, or experience with (semi)automated handling of large-datasets, networking and authentication protocols.
