Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional leader to establish and run our Beyond Technology Field SynBio Department. As the head of this department, you will be responsible for creating ZEISS capabilities across all segments or establishing the foundation for a new Strategic Business Unit.
Your key responsibilities will include designing and implementing the required organizational and operational backbone of Beyond Technology Field Synthetic Biology. You will also be accountable for results and reports into the Innovation Board, representing SynBio internally and externally, managing relationships with authorities, and evaluating ongoing activities in terms of budget, timing, and impact.
You will identify and evaluate new potential business opportunities, lead proposals for new Beyond Market Fields, and orchestrate stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem. Additionally, you will coordinate multiple strategic projects for identifying and detailing potential Beyond Market Fields.
* A degree in natural science, life science, engineering, or economics is required, with a PhD or MBA as a plus.
* Long-term experience in innovation-driven global companies or biological/pharmaceutical driven companies is essential.
* Several years of experience leading innovation teams and steering complex projects as a project manager are necessary.
* Modern leadership experience, including experience with startups or venture activities and an entrepreneurial mindset, is required.
* Outstanding analytical competence and outside-the-box thinking are essential.
* Experience in lateral leadership in medium and large project settings and a strategic & exploratory mindset and capabilities are necessary.
