We are currently looking for a motivated person to take on the task of vegetation management along the rail network.
The goal is to ensure that vegetation does not pose a threat to train traffic. This requires regular maintenance and monitoring of the vegetation growth.
Responsibilities
The following tasks are part of your job:
* Vegetation management: Regularly inspect and maintain the vegetation along the rail tracks to prevent it from becoming a hazard to train traffic.
* Operate modern equipment: You will work with various tools such as chain saws, pruning shears and mulching equipment.
* Preventive measures: Remove trees that are located near the tracks to prevent any potential hazards.
You will also be responsible for identifying and removing any damaged or dead branches, and ensuring that all debris is properly disposed of.
You should have a keen eye for spotting potential hazards and be able to recognize them at first sight.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
a degree in forestry, horticulture or a related field, or equivalent experience in vegetation management;
a valid driving license (class B) for transporting equipment and personnel; and
the ability to pass a physical fitness test as part of our selection process.
