We're seeking a skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead our projects and support our teams in the production of cutting-edge energy storage solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to plan and execute projects from procurement to installation, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, financial viability, technical feasibility, and timeliness.
You will provide critical manufacturing engineering expertise to our product innovation processes, driving the development of new equipment and machinery while supporting the smooth operation of our current infrastructure.
Your role will be based at our EMEA headquarters in Hannover, Germany, and you'll work closely with our international teams to achieve our goals.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
* Full responsibility for assigned series production processes, machinery, and tooling
* Create specifications (SOW) for manufacturing equipment
* Project lead (output, timing, budget) for new or changed machinery and tooling
o Make-or-buy decision with key stakeholders
o Supplier selection and management from design to series production with stakeholders
o Coordinate on-site installation, commissioning, and acceptance in the plants together with operations and suppliers
o Documentation of the machinery, including all needed documentations for CE declaration, administrative documentation like CAD, electrical schematics in the database
* Development of assigned processes/machinery/tooling for new products, quality, improved performance, or maintenance and other reasons, including design and process validation builds
* Support operations with existing machinery in the assigned processes and machinery
* Set global standards for the assigned processes/machinery/tooling together with global partners
* Report and collaborate related to professional and project subjects to key stakeholders as other regions, Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, Process Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, Logistics
* Represent related topics in multifunctional development teams
* Manufacture feasibility analysis (DFA/DFM) and PFMEAs
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* An engineer or technician degree in mechatronics/mechanics/automotive engineering or comparable qualification
* Work experience within the automotive industry is a plus
* Ideally Project Management experience
* Good Communication skills and a hands-on mentality
* Ability to build strong working relationships and communicate on various levels in an international environment, from work floor to upper management and non-technical stakeholders
* Quality awareness
* Ideally knowledge of CE regulations
* Experience working with CAD (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks)
* Electrical knowledge
* Strong proficiency working with Microsoft Office
* Fluency in German and English required
* Willingness to travel (up to 30%)
