42 Berlin is a disruptive higher education NGO training up to 600 students to become cutting-edge software engineers in a practice-based, gamified peer-learning environment. Our model is based on the internationally successful concept of Ecole 42 which was founded in 2013 in Paris and now trains more than 18.000 students in 50 schools across the globe. At 42 Berlin, we set out to educate the next generation of German software engineers to build a digital future together. Tasks As Student Success / Pedagogy Manager, your main mission will be to look after students throughout their whole lifecycle, from the start of their Piscine to the end of their studies at 42 Berlin. You will report to the Pedagogy Lead and support the pedagogy team in their everyday work on campus. You will help accelerate our impact by taking ownership of the following workstreams: Student well-being: You will be the first point of contact for students and, during Piscines, for candidates. You will assist them with any questions or concerns they have and proactively look after their well-being by regularly checking in with them and spending time in the clusters. Onsite presence: We’d like you to be on campus as much as possible to support students with their everyday needs (projects, exams, time management, motivation, freezes, blackhole) as well as online through Slack, email or other communication tools Monitoring System: You will monitor the attendance and progress of students and manage the data and tools used for this purpose. You will reach out to and follow up with students that are falling behind or have not been active. Assistance Program: We’d like you to develop an Assistance Program to help ensure every student is able to learn at 42 Berlin, no matter what their circumstances are, by finding creative solutions to support student success and reduce dropout rates. Piscine Organization: You will support the preparation of the Piscines, kick-offs and welcome weeks 42 Berlin Campus Life: You will organise and maintain an active and engaged student community through regular events and activities, such as standups, meetups and community emails, as much as possible together with the students. Transition to jobs: You will work closely with the partnerships team to bridge the gap between students on campus and their job application process, maintaining healthy relationships with the companies at which our students work.
