We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team delivering corporate intelligence across Europe, with a particular emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious and skilled in managing projects focused on investigating, evaluating, and interpreting both open-source and human intelligence within the context of due diligence and strategic corporate analysis. This is a client-facing role requiring strong critical thinking, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proven project management experience. A demonstrated interest in business transactions and corporate operations is essential. We are looking for a proactive team player who thrives under pressure and maintains a positive, solutions-oriented attitude. The successful candidate will bring a rigorous analytical mindset and a passion for uncovering insights that drive informed decision-making. Ideally this person will be based in Berlin but we will also consider applicants based in London, Paris or Copenhagen. Investigative case management Manage and execute a range of business intelligence and compliance projects, including due diligence, strategic and commercial intelligence, market entry studies, problem solving investigations and stakeholder mapping exercises. Lead scoping conversations with existing and prospective clients as a subject matter expert. Provide insight into how deliverables can bring value to our clients, and, deliver projects aligned with the clients’ requirement. Manage the project cycle, from initial client request to proposal drafting, acceptance, delivery and invoicing. Ensure the delivery of projects on budget, scope and deadline. Summarise relevant research findings in a well-organised report in English. Assist in the operational and commercial management of cross-regional/cross-service line engagements, acting as a key point of contact for client and internal stakeholders. Deliver insightful briefings to internal and external stakeholders on intelligence findings, analysis and recommended mitigation strategies. Liaise with our human source network and expand it by cultivating contacts in Central and Eastern Europe Business and practice development Take active role in maintaining existing client relationships and develop new ones. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of complementary services across Control Risks. Where appropriate, facilitate the introduction and provision of additional Control Risks’ services and integrate them into client solutions where relevant Support senior staff in the design and implementation of the overall business development strategy, identifying key industries, market trends and commercial opportunities. Serve as a thought leader, including the use cases of corporate intelligence and application to how our clients manage risk. Requirements Essential Substantial previous professional experience within consulting/ financial services/ expert networks/ research-driven roles with knowledge of managing due diligence projects and presenting and discussing findings to clients (3 to 7 years’ experience) Solid knowledge of research techniques, databases, networks, online registers and archives as well as general OSINT capabilities A strong understanding and practical knowledge of the intelligence cycle, source evaluation and techniques used to ensure objectivity, actionability and relevance of intelligence Understand common integrity, regulatory (AML) and reputational risks issues related to companies and executives operating in Central and Eastern Europe, together with political risks in the region Professional fluency in English; good knowledge of German is an advantage; another Central or Eastern European language is preferred Strong writing skills and ability to summarise information in a concise manner Passion for learning about businesses, and political and commercial trends Ability to work in a team and independently Education to Bachelor’s degree Benefits Control Risks offers a competitively positioned compensation and benefits package that is transparent and summarized in the full job offer.
