About us
We see the semiconductor industry as a realm of possibility. We see opportunity. We see the profound impact that our graphene solutions will have in transforming the industry. We invite you to join us in driving change with our fundamentally human-centered approach, uniting bright minds around a shared vision. The vision is: Prove to everybody that you can make a fundamental change. Prove with your knowledge and skills how things can be done differently. Together, we can change the paradigm of how the world connects
About our technology
The semiconductor industry’s growing demand for more powerful chips with higher bandwidth and lower power finds its solution in our technology. We connect chips to high-throughput, low-delay computing networks. The key lies in harnessing the physical properties of graphene to combine electronic computing with photonic communication, allowing countless chips to interact almost as if they were one. Our graphene photonic innovation increases computing power and efficiency to a new order of magnitude
In short, we connect chips to create powerful and energy-efficient networks, overcoming connectivity limitations in the semiconductor industry. We deliver the graphene solution
The Role
Black Semiconductor GmbH is looking for a Factory Automation Manager (f/m/d) to lead the introduction of AMHS and Factory Automation components at our 300mm Wafer Fabrication plant in Aachen, Germany. The role involves exploring, benchmarking, and selecting cutting-edge AMHS technologies that meet operational requirements for cost, speed, accuracy, and reliability
The ideal candidate will drive the successful execution of AMHS implementation, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring system integration with MES, MCS, and other automation solutions. The position requires leadership in procurement, system design, and managing a team of engineers and technicians to support a fully automated wafer fab. Additionally, the role demands expertise in SEMI standards, material flow strategies, and effective communication skills for stakeholder management
To join our team, you should be excited to
* Lead the introduction of Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) and relevant Factory Automation components in our 300mm Wafer Fabrication plant
* Explore and benchmark current AMHS technologies, identifying solutions that offer innovation, speed, accuracy, and reliability in the shop floor
* Drive the successful execution and implementation of AMHS introduction into our new 300mm Wafer Fab
* Collaborate with operations and cross-functional technology teams to analyze and define the AMHS system’s functional and non-functional requirements and specifications
* Conduct necessary assessments of the shop floor to define optimal layout and system design, including modeling and simulation to evaluate transport volumes, congestion, and bottlenecks
* Lead the integration of MES-MCS-AMHS systems using best practices in project management to meet implementation milestones
* Perform necessary conceptualization, prototyping, pilot testing, and engineering design needed to achieve proposed implementation
* Lead the Capital Equipment Procurement Team for automation-related procurement topics
* Train and lead a team of engineers and technicians in the operation and support of a fully automated wafer fabrication facility
* Establish and oversee support teams to ensure 24x7 uptime and reliable operation of the AMHS infrastructure
