About the Opportunity
We are seeking a results-driven leader with a passion for aerospace operations and surface protection to oversee the daily operations of aircraft surface protection services in Hamburg, Germany. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team while ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and regulatory compliance are consistently met. Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of 25+ employees within the Surface Protection department.
* Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations across all activities.
* Oversee daily production planning, execution, and delivery schedules.
* Ensure compliance with Airbus and OEM standards.
* Implement and enhance Quality Management Systems (AS9100, EN9100, ISO9001).
* Coordinate and support annual service-level and customer audits.
* Drive compliance initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
* Implement performance management systems and operational KPIs.
* Manage employee training, mentoring, and professional development.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align resources and operational priorities.
* Support the General Manager with strategic and operational initiatives.
* Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure environmental compliance, including adherence to REACH regulations.
* Develop and maintain operational, quality assurance, and quality control policies.
* Recruit, manage, and develop personnel to meet operational requirements.
* Maintain special process qualifications by aircraft type and facility.
* Manage and coordinate disciplinary actions when required.
* Develop and implement business continuity plans.
* Monitor project status to ensure financial and operational targets are achieved.
* Engage with customers to review program performance and scheduling.
* Manage internal and external audits and respond to assessments.
* Resolve program issues using formal RCCA processes.
* Continuously evaluate and improve surface protection operations.
* Maintain and manage document control systems for surface protection processes.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, material science, chemistry, or a related field.
* Experience in surface protection, coatings technologies, or corrosion prevention.
* Aerospace industry experience preferred (qualification, certification, standardization).
* Project management experience.
* Knowledge of REACH regulations and Lean Manufacturing tools.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
* Fluency in German and English.
* Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
