About the Job: This position will be situated within Keysight Laboratories in Bochum, where cutting-edge application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) are developed to drive performance breakthroughs and set our electronic test and measurement products apart. At Keysight, we cultivate a collaborative engineering environment that values teamwork, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence in crafting the highest performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Responsibilities What you will be doing: As an Experienced Mixed-Signal Designer, you'll join the Mixed-Signal ASIC Design section as a senior designer or co-lead designer. Your role will involve collaborating with a team to develop custom ASIC data converter solutions for GHz applications. Key tasks will include implementing core ADC and DAC structures, designing streaming I/O data paths, and contributing to the measurement and emulation of communication transceiver ASICs. Working with both CMOS and BiCMOS technologies, you'll contribute to innovating the next generation of high-performance mixed-signal ASICs. These advancements will give Keysight’s test and measurement products a competitive edge in performance and cost-effectiveness, enabling the generation and characterization of cutting-edge high-speed signals like RF communication and serial link waveforms. Join us and apply your extensive IC design knowledge and experience to contribute to the development of the world's fastest and most accurate measurement ICs. Qualifications Required Qualifications: A PhD. in Electrical Engineering or closely-related field, with thesis work on mixed-signal IC design (preferred) or an M.S. in Electrical Engineering with substantial experience in mixed-signal IC design is required. Several years direct experience in the design and development of high-speed (> 5 GSa/s, 8+ bits) analog-to-digital (ADC) converters in advanced CMOS (28nm and smaller) technologies, at both the architectural and transistor level. Direct experience in ADC chip turn-on, test, debug, and documentation of performance. Experience in designing a diverse collection of high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits in advanced CMOS technologies at both the transistor level (schematic) and physical (layout) levels. Experience with related mixed-signal building blocks and integrated systems, such as PLLs, DACs, Serializers, or wideband amplifiers. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, technically lead others, and strong ability to document and present results. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills to work in dynamic environment as part of multiple teams working on multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally with a team-oriented mindset. Ability to troubleshoot, and drive to root cause on difficult problems. A highly self-motivated mindset to accomplish all the tasks required to meet aggressive product development schedules and world class manufacturing expectations. Desired Qualifications: Ability to mentor junior engineers to help them achieve design goals Demonstrated experience applying Analog and Digital Signal Processing in data converter systems to improve linearity, accuracy, spurious and hard distortion performance. Demonstrated experience in high-speed digital-to-analog (DAC) and high-rate (>28 Gbps) SERDES circuits (e.g. CDRs, AFE, DFE). Solid background in device modelling, thermal design, and IC package design. A sound understanding of the underlying semiconductor technologies and devices and their characteristics, enabling creative design to push circuit limits. Understanding of signal integrity and EM issues. Experience with mixed-mode simulation of analog and digital blocks, including behavioral modelling of analog circuits, using tools like Verilog or Verilog A for simulation. Familiarity with programming and scripting languages to enable automation in the design, simulation, and testing of ICs. Experience with synthesized digital design flows, using RTL descriptions to deliver verified netlists for physical synthesis. What we offer: A place within an exciting company!
