We are looking for an experienced and versatile Engineering Manager to be part of our technology department and contribute to the creation of the next generation of our bespoke software platform. The successful candidate will work closely with our business units and the wider tech team to deliver efficient digital processes for a global 24x7 operation.

Your Responsibilities
1. Provide technical direction and mentorship to up to 2 teams of software engineers, around 12 engineers.
2. Architect and implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services (Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, RDS, SNS/SQS).
3. Manage the team’s engineering process, ensuring it adheres to the company’s guidelines
4. Act as scrum master for the team, ensuring ceremonies are performed and managing the team performance
5. Provide estimates for new features and manage the dates, by communicating and delivering on time
6. Conduct interviews on the hiring processes
7. Drive CI/CD, test automation, and observability practices across the team.
8. Collaborate with product managers to align priorities and solutions.
9. Observe and enforce the standards set by the Architects
10. Provide Level 3 support for the supported services in close collaboration with the Support team
11. Work with DevOps, DBAs and Infra to resolve incidents in the supported services
12. Enforce the security standards of the company
13. Promote engineering best practices and uphold code quality standards.
14. Monitor application KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
15. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
16. Lead and mentor software engineers, providing guidance on technical and professional development.
17. Conduct performance reviews.
18. Oversee team performance, ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions.
19. Encourage collaboration and accountability within the engineering team.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
20. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
21. 10+ years of experience in the Software Engineering space, including 5 years of engineering management experience
22. Proven experience leading software engineering teams in cloud-based environments.
23. Hands-on expertise with AWS architecture, serverless services, EKS computing, and event-driven design.
24. Experience with CI/CD systems, observability, and infrastructure-as-code (., Terraform).
25. Fluency in one or more backend languages (Java, Python, .
26. Fluency in SQL (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DocumentDB, DynamoDB)
27. Solid understanding of Scrum, Agile development & DevOps
28. Good understanding of DDD, BDD, TDD and Design Patterns
29. Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and scalable system design.
30. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
31. Ability to promote engineering best practices and maintain high code quality.
