About The Job
We're looking for our first
dedicated data hire
at dlthub. You'll take ownership of our existing data stack (built by our team of data-savvy professionals) and evolve it to meet new business needs.
This is a hands-on role where you'll improve how we collect, structure, and use data end-to-end. You'll collaborate closely with C levels, while also working directly with stakeholders from Solutions, Product, and Marketing.
Your work will shape how we use data to understand customers, qualify leads, measure performance, and make better decisions across the company. This is a rare chance to step into a role with real ownership, senior coaching, and the space to figure things out, at a company building the future of open-source data infrastructure.
Your Task and Responsibilities:
* Steward our data: keep existing pipelines and models lean, clean, and reliable
* Work across teams: partner with marketing, sales ops, and product to understand their questions and deliver the datasets that enable them
* Think like an entrepreneur: go beyond requests, understand the business and find ways data can help
* Enable growth: build the foundations for the customer model, product analytics, and go-to-market insights
Requirements
*Who You Are*
You are motivated by solving real business problems with data. You enjoy stitching together messy customer and lead information, finding patterns, and turning insights into action that helps sales and marketing succeed.
You are independent and proactive: when faced with a question, you don't wait to be told what to do, you explore the data, test approaches, and bring back answers or proposals. You seek guidance when needed, but you thrive when given the freedom to figure things out.
At the same time, you are orderly. You take pride in a clean stack, structured analysis, and clear communication. You know that good decisions depend on clarity and consistency, and you build processes that others can trust.
You care more about impact than titles. You're excited by the opportunity to shape how we use data, improve how we work with customers, and drive growth. Along the way, you'll get exposure to senior colleagues, learn quickly, and expand your skills, but your primary motivation is to make the business stronger with data.
Skills needed:
* You have experience with SQL and Python
* You understand dimensional modelling
* You have experience using APIs, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, and databases more generally
* You have familiarity with dashboarding/BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, Looker, etc.)
* Understanding of version control (Git) and basic CI/CD principles
* Bonus: Exposure to Cypher or other graph query languages
* Bonus: Exposure to modern data pipeline frameworks like dbt, SQLMesh, or Airflow
* Bonus: Exposure to cloud deployment experience (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
Benefits
What we offer:
At dlthub, you'll work directly with senior professionals who guide and coach, but don't micromanage. You'll have real ownership, freedom to figure things out, and the credibility of working with a team shaping the future of data. If you're excited by impact, growth, and autonomy, this is the place.
In our work culture, we value each other's autonomy and efficiency. We have set hours for communication and deep work. We like automation, so we automate our work before we automate the work of others.
