Managing Director, Head of Germany
Our client, one of Europe’s leading renewable energy companies, is dedicated to the development, generation, and long-term management of photovoltaic solar energy. The newly created position of Head of Germany will play a pivotal role in building the company’s German platform from the ground up, leading the establishment of the Berlin office and shaping the company’s long-term presence in one of Europe’s most strategically important renewable energy markets. In parallel with its renewable energy expansion, the company is actively developing its strategy around data centres and clean-energy infrastructure, positioning itself at the intersection of Europes energy transition and rapidly growing AI-driven power demand.
The Role
The Head of Germany will be entrusted with building and leading the company’s German platform, assuming end-to-end responsibility for the launch, development and long-term performance of the business in the country.
This is a highly strategic and entrepreneurial leadership role, combining country start-up, business development, institutional representation, financial stewardship and operational execution. The successful candidate will lead the establishment of the company’s Berlin office, ensuring that the German subsidiary is set up effectively, compliantly and with the organisational foundations required to support future growth.
Working closely with the General Management team and corporate headquarters in Spain, the Head of Germany will help define and implement the German Business Plan, translating the company’s strategic objectives into a clear local roadmap. The role will carry direct co-responsibility for the country’s key financial and performance indicators, including EBITDA, BAI, liquidity management, cash flow, collections and the recovery of guarantees, ensuring that growth is pursued with strong financial discipline and long-term sustainability.
A central part of the mandate will be to identify and develop commercial opportunities across the German market. This will include market analysis, opportunity origination, participation in public and private tenders, preparation of financial and risk assessments, and the development of compelling project proposals. The Head of Germany will also play a visible external role, representing the company before government institutions, public administrations, sector bodies, interest groups, customers, partners and other strategic stakeholders.
The position requires an executive who can operate confidently at both strategic and hands-on levels. The Head of Germany will act as the key interface between the company’s corporate functions in Spain and the local market, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, engineering firms, construction partners and other stakeholders to ensure effective project execution. In parallel, they will design and propose the local organisational structure, identify the capabilities required to support the business, and contribute to the selection and development of the team that will enable the company’s growth in Germany.
This is an opportunity for a seasoned leader to shape a new country platform from inception, with autonomy, visibility and impact associated with a first-country-leadership appointment.
