Business Development Manager (m/w/d)
Tasks:
1. Identifies and qualifies prospective companies within Territory to determine target list and update regularly
2. Work closely with Early Stage counterpart to strategize transfer and bring the right molecules to Ravensburg out of Chicago and Rankweil
3. Prepares quotes for prospective customers
4. Facilitates and negotiates confidentiality, development and supply agreements with potential clients in conjunction with Vetter’s legal department, as required
5. Actively promotes Vetter through social media, industry associations, and trade shows
6. Hosts customer visits in Germany
7. Calls on biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies and recontacts leads regularly
8. Creates and cultivates common lead data base
9. Develops new business opportunities and demonstrates active customer interaction
10. Develops active relationships with relevant consultants. Seeks out new networking channels, cultivates new leads and promotes Vetter. Need to be an active “hunter” for new business
11. This position requires 30-50% travel
12. Identifies and exhibits/speaks at trade shows and relevant industry events
13. Active consultation of potential customers and strategize development
14. Answer 80% of customer questions, within the Late stage NBD Team without involvement of SMEs
15. Manage Active customer accounts with no escalation to VP level
Requirements:
16. Technical Degree (B.S. or M.S.) in an applied science (Biotechnology or similar) or engineering, selling experience in the technical pharmaceutical industry desired
17. MBA and strong account management preferred
18. Experience in aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging highly desirable
19. Knowledge of the specific needs and requirements of a contract development and manufacturing organization
20. English fluency required. German beneficial
