Job Title: Energy Risk Management Leader
Job Summary:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive risk strategy framework aligned with the organization's risk appetite and ambitions.
* Provide strategic leadership to the Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Quantitative Risk teams.
* Drive data-driven business growth and establish a cross-functional Data Team.
Responsibilities:
1. Stay up-to-date on market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices to ensure the appropriateness of risk frameworks.
2. Coordinate materials for key risk committees and communicate risk profiles and recommended actions effectively to facilitate informed decision-making.
3. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address risk-related inquiries and maintain strong relationships.
4. Oversee the development and enhancement of risk assessment methodologies, pricing models, and metrics.
5. Lead the implementation of a consistent risk framework and modeling across regions through strong functional steering.
6. Monitor risk limits and triggers and take appropriate actions to manage potential exposures.
7. Collaborate with trading, IT, and business operations teams to build meaningful risk reporting and controls.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in risk management within the energy or commodity industry.
* Ability to establish risk appetite and implement effective risk management frameworks.
* Deep understanding of trading and portfolio management and advocate of active, value-creating risk management.
* Track record of leading and managing (risk management) teams, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
* Effective communicator, able to convey complex risk-related concepts to diverse stakeholders.
* Structured approach to identify areas where digital tools and talent can have most impact.
