The candidate should further develop the instrument PIPE within the framework of a project funded by the BMBFR. He/She should perform experiments on the photodissociation on small molecular ions applying the method of kinetic-energy-released (KER) ion spectroscopy in a fast ion beam at the experiment PIPE, a permanent endstation at the storage ring PETRA III/DESY. Aim is to study dynamic processes on the timescale of a few femtoseconds.Your profileA university degree in a relevant field.A master in physics or chemistry. A PhD is welcome. Very good knowledge in x-ray and molecular physics as well as the work with ions is mandatory.
