4. Apply 802.11 deployment principles (coverage, roaming, RSSI/SNR thresholds, channel planning, transmit‑power alignment) in service‑related designs.
5. Advise on Professional Service improvements based on current industry-standards.
6. Support test‑lab environments and infrastructure validation.
Your role
7. As a Service Developer you will be part of an Agile Service Development team
8. Provide networking expertise for the design and development of new Professional Services.
9. Develop and describe new service concepts according to our Service Framework
10. Validate service concepts through lab testing, performance measurements and interoperability checks.
11. Work with delivery teams to validate new service concepts in First of Kinds.
12. Collaborate with Product Development teams to ensure network requirements are considered early in feature and service definition.
13. Act as a central contact for the Philips network engineer community for Network Professional Services.
14. Provide technical guidance and best practices for network and network resilience.
You’re the right fit if
15. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
16. 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking or infrastructure engineering.
17. Fluent in English.
18. German and other languages are a plus.
19. Proven experience in network engineering and network security.
20. Strong understanding of:
Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, STP/RSTP, routing protocols
WiFi/802.11 network design (RSSI/SNR thresholds, roaming behavior, channel planning, DFS considerations, QoS/WMM)
DHCP/DNS design, IP addressing, NAT limitations, segmentation, and security controls
21. Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
22. Experience in solution design and delivery.
23. Experience with Virtualization environments
